Niantic announces a new feature in Pokémon GO. The Pokémon GO League meets coaches from all over the world in seasons of three leagues each.
Pokémon GO was launched in summer 2016 and was a huge success. The mark of 500 million downloads was exceeded in just two months. Growth has slowed since then, but success continues. Niantic's title exceeded a billion downloads last summer . It must be said that despite the development of Harry Potter: Wizards Unity, which finally started in June 2019, the studio has spared no effort to keep players and attract new ones by regularly expanding the content of its flagship title. And that's exactly what it does today by announcing the arrival of the Combat League GO on the official Pokémon GO blog .

An international competition
The Combat League GO has already been announced and partially presented. It is a new competition that is intended to enable coaches from all over the world to compete in three leagues per season, with a classification in the key and of course more awards or less ... The leagues are connected one after the other, starting with the Super League. Follow the Hyper League, then the Master League.
At the moment, everyone will be spread over two weeks, but Niantic states that they want to do a preseason to adjust the parameters of the Combat League GO and in particular the length of the seasons. They could therefore be shortened when they were expanded, and possible changes are also mentioned for the classification system. It is now based on 10 rows, with row 1 being the lowest and row 10 the highest. Note that the highest rank achieved is maintained for the duration of the season.
5 km on foot for 5 fights
A note on completing the modalities participating in the Combat League GO is deserved, since 5 km must be covered before a fight can be started. Four more will be unlocked over the same distance, for a total of 5 fights in 5 kilometers of markets within the limit of 3 times a day. However, Niantic points out that it is possible to spare the walk in exchange for PokéPièces with a feature called "Fight Now" for most in a hurry - or lazy.
Another novelty: The Premium Raid Passes become Premium Combat Passes and provide access to a "Premium Circuit" of the Combat League GO.
The pre-season has already started!
If you 're tempted by this new feature from Pokémon GO , be aware that it is rolling out gradually this week and that the pre-season started on January 28th with the Super League and the appearance of a Pikachu wrestler as a bonus. The transition to the Hyper League is scheduled for February 10th. This is followed by the Master League on February 24 and the return of the Super League on March 9. The first 5 games are free.
